A MiRaClE HaPpEnEd...

Today a miracle happened at our house. A few weeks ago we got Mattie some siblings, two new kitties, Weasley and Winkie. We thought we got her sisters but we in fact got her a brother and sister. Turns out that Winkie (her sister), who weighs in at 2 1/2 lbs, has been scaring Mattie since day one by hissing and swiping at her and has been kind of running the show. Well today something changed....Mattie has seizures, they aren't horrible but they make us nervous when they happen. Her head starts to shake back and forth and they have lasted for up to 10 minutes that we know of. While Mattie was sitting on the couch she started to shake and we didn't even notice until Winkie jumped up next to her sniffing and licking her all over. It was sweet and gentle and caring. She seemed to sense the seizure and come to comfort Mattie. After she had sniffed around her she laid down next to her and rested by her till the seizure stopped. Mattie got up and moved to the other couch and was recovering from her seizure when another one started. Winkie immediately jumped up and snuggled next to her again. Now this evening after the excitement Winkie is still checking on Mattie and making sure she is OK! We are so excited that they love each other. We know that if Mattie has a seizure while we are gone and Winkie is around she will be there to comfort Mattie.
Who says cats and dogs can't be friends? We have proof to the contrary!
Here is proof positive that it happened!

Our Newest Edition!

No we aren't pregnant and no we haven't had a baby! We got a doggy!!!! Her name is Mattie, short for Matilda, and she is the cutest little dog anyone has ever known. She is half English Bulldog (my personal favorite) and half Boxer. We found her through www.adoptapet.com, and with one quick search for English Bulldogs James discovered this little treasure. She is 2 and she was at a Bulldog rescue. The woman who runs the rescue told us no one was interested in her because she was not a purebred dog. We fell in love with her the moment we met her and she is transforming our lives. We spoil her but that's ok, she deserves it. We have overcome her self esteem issues, but we are st
ill working on her rough edges. She pulls very hard, especially, for a dog that only weighs 50 lbs. She can pull as hard as a dog t
wice her size. She also hates, HATES!!!!! skateboards and bikes. We are trying are best to help her learn that they won't hurt her but unfortunately we may need Cesar Millan,The Dog Whisperer, come and train her. Because she is a rescue dog, we are afraid someone terrorized her with a bike and skateboard. It breaks my heart thinking someone would try to scare or hurt this sweet little puppy. Outside she is full of energy, but inside she is super lazy and spends her days lounging around the house. She lives the life we all want!

Since nothing speaks louder than words....I'll let you all see why she is so adorable and loveable!

She loves our bed and particularly sleeping on top of James's legs at night. She is loving and sweet and sensitive. Her skin is the most sensitive! She got fleas, which we have gotten rid of, and her whole back end swelled with bites and hives we think. She is so allergic to them and she itched so bad she couldn't sit or lay still. She ran around the apartment going crazy! We gave her benadryl and a flea bath and she was all better 24 hours later, although I'm not sure she loved being so drowsy, i know she loved not itching!

We love her and are happy to have her in our family!
